Fred Scherrer is the proprietor and winemaker of Frederick William, a small producer of fine artisan wines in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. Our passion is Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah...we believe we do a pretty good job with it. We also ferment very limited quantities of other single varietals and field blends that we love sourced from small vineyards which consistently produce high quality fruit. Careful vineyard selection results in very interesting, layered, and complex wines. Our grapes are contracted on a long term basis assuring an ongoing supply of some the finest fruit in each of these regions. All of our current wine releases are single vineyard sourced, and other than our Acuity field blends, are 100% varietal with no other varietal blended.
Our wines are only offered direct to the consumer via this website and to a small select group of restaurants and purveyors of fine wines in the San Francisco Bay Area and Las Vegas markets.
