Our 2010 Frederick William Syrah is characterized by a shorter growing season and rains that were predicted just before harvest. We picked before the remains at the end of September and fermented for eight days. This vintage tends to blue fruits of blackberry and bing cherry as it opens with traditional white pepper and bacon.
Our 2012 Frederick William Syrah is characterized by great weather and a long growing season. Weather was in our favor this year and produced a wine that is angular while maintaining the best characteristics of the varietal. Blueberry and rasberry with leather, white pepper, and smoked bacon define this vintage. Alcohol 12.75%
Our 2013 Frederick William Syrah was a riper vintage due to a week of warm weather prior to harvest and crush. We had 100º weather in Corralitos for two days over a weekend and picked an crushed on an early Monday morning. 50% whole berry and 50% crushed fruit. Temperature cooled significantly for fermentation and lasted 10 days. Alcohol of 14.0%. 50% new and 50% third fill French oak barrels.
2012 Sonoma Coast Merlot was picked an harvested from a vineyard on the east side of the Sonoma Coast. The wine is made for us by Chris Condos of Horse and Plow and Vinum Cellars in Sonoma and Napa. A traditional Merlot in style, it has bing cherry and blackberry fruits with hints of mocha, tobacco and tar with dry finishing tannins. 14.2% alcohol.
2011 Acuity is an Iberian field blend comprised predominantly of Tempranillo, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Touriga. It is a fun wine that has lots of pleasant surprises on the palate and nose. This wine pairs well with spicy, rich foods and is a crowd pleaser. 14.8% alcohol.
